Sales Notes and DJ/Reviewer Feedback

Your B2B and B2C sales notes and reactions are your opportunity to really sell your release both direct to consumers and to wholesale and retail buyers. The B2B notes are included in the sales packs we send to our wholesale customers. The B2C notes are not only used on our website, but also are delivered to some digital/web stores. Feedback is also included in our sales kits and on our website.

We would really encourage you to keep these sections up to date. Whenever you receive a positive review from an influential journalist, blog or DJ, make sure you update your feedback section. All updates are fed back to your label manager and help our sales people make a case for an account to stock your release.

Spend some time on formatting your sales notes. Do not cut and paste sales notes from WORD straight into the sales notes section in the portal as it often screws up the formatting. Remove any redundant line breaks. A few extra minutes spent on this section can really improve the presentation of your release.

Note that you are able to apply simple formatting such as bold, italics and bullet points.  These can be used to draw attention to important references in your sales notes but you should never format your entire notes with bold, italic or BLOCK CAPITALS.

Hyperlinks are also supported and a couple of relevant links for videos, press articles etc can be a useful addition.  However, you must not include links to audio previews or websites selling digital or physical products etc.

Also remember that your notes will always be displayed in the context of your release so you need not include any information that is entered elsewhere in the metadata such as title, artist, tracklist etc.
